It is an advantage, but being a fast short acting insulin is its biggest advantage. The fast acting, short duration allows for tighter control of glucose levels during and right after meals. This tighter control allowed for lower HgA1C levels and still have fewer or at least (depending on type 1 or 2 DM) the same hypoglycemia events. [/citar]
